Berkshire Genealogist collection instructions for members.

  • Start with the Master Index found on the homepage.

  • Enter search terms. Here is a partial list of what was found doing a search using only the Surname, Biggart.

  • If Berkshire Genealog(-y) or(-ist) Quarterly  is cited as the source, go to the Members Portal, and sign in with your confidential password.  Click on the Berkshire Genealogist button to open the collection.  Go to the volume and issue number shown in the citation and to the page cited.

  • If a citation has a call number, that book  is in the Berkshire Athenaeum Local History  Department.  Your membership benefit of 2 hours of research can be used to request look-ups.  Use the Contact Us form for lookups

However, the same book may be available elsewhere.  For example,

Using a simple Google search this book was found at  https://archive.org/     The entire book was there and Alma Biggart was, as expected, on page 531.

Another suggestion for locating a book of interest is to use WorldCat.org to find out what libraries have it.  Ask your local library about Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

It should be noted that Berkshire Resort Topics, although listed in the index,  has a glitch that is being worked on.  However, unless your person was wealthy and well known, they are not likely to be in this series.
