The Clark W. Nicholls Collection

Clark W. Nicholls Website

PHS1968.com is my website, created ~2000, before social media, to keep track of PHS class reunion information (most of which now is outdated). As time went by, it was enlarged with an extensive library of PHS Yearbooks, which I have scanned. From there historical information of PHS and Pittsfield schools in general were added (my Great Grandmother was a teacher at the Union Street school), then Pittsfield Historical research and history books. I scanned thousands of postcards from Judy Rupinski's collection and added that to what I had acquired elsewhere. There is an immense amount of information, you'll need to explore. Much of this content has been duplicated at the Archives link, more organized and with useful search functions.

Clark W. Nicholls Research of Pittsfield History, Pittsfield and Berkshire Directories, extensive Pittsfield High School history and Publication Archives

https://archive.org/details/@milo066

This is an internet archiving service where I have uploaded much of my work that is in PDF form. This includes libraries of Pittsfield school yearbooks and history. The section of Pittsfield and Berkshire directories (already visited over 20,000 times) will be extremely useful in tracking your relatives or history. Class yearbooks and over 290 PHS Student's Pen publications are here also. Note the search functions when you are viewing a document. Pittsfield Registers (Annual Reports) from the late 1800s and early 1900s are quite detailed and interesting as to the progress of Pittsfield back then. The Smith, Boltwood, Willison histories are here and other publications of persons of interest, etc. Too much to summarize here, you need to explore! Note that not everything here is Berkshire information, but that is the main focus.

This is a work in progress.  If you have items I am missing, I will gladly add (and possibly scan) them to this collection.

Once you get used to how the Archive works, Go to https://archive.org/ and search for your desired information. You may find it! For instance the Pittsfield Parks Department has uploaded their scrapbooks. Lenox Library, amongst others, has also. Some of those items are in my Favorites section (be sure to check that out).

Judy Rupinski's Post Card Collection

This is a direct link to the section in my PHS1968 website to Judy Rupinski's vast collection of post cards (which I scanned and are now somewhere at the Athenaeum) that she and her Father collected from auctions and flea markets. There are more to add! Also here are postcard images from John Keller he generously donated in addition to other images I acquired.
